十九世纪半叶伦敦社名媛Lady Blessington像一幅画那秀，诗人拜伦说又有才情又标致，连晨（“very literary——and very pretty， even of a m”）。拜伦一八二三年在意利北部港市热那亚一次见不禁惊艳，他一连六星期见面，翌年拜伦世。婵媛伤怀，命不长，但他欣赏色有细腻的，断非偶，Lady Blessington显丝毫不俗。国诗人 Nathaniel Parker Willis一八三一年在的伦敦新居认识，马在国报纸的专栏撰文称讚年届四十却体态丰盈不失玲珑姿，肌肤雪白，眉色浓，彷彿少女细緻鲜嫩；说蓝色缎子的衣服裁很低，褶层缠绕前，越露两边肩膀圆浑洁白，不啻剔透浮雕（“Lady Blessington is now ''she fessed it very frankly'' forty， her person is full but preserves all the fineness of an admirable shape and her plexion ''an unusually fair skin with very dark hair and eyebrows'' is of even a girlish delicad freshness.
